Storm Water Management Seminar – 7 October 2004
On 7 October 2004, Cobblestone Construction’s
Managing Director, Norm Zachary, attended a two-day seminar
on storm water management at construction sites, held by the
Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA).
Managing storm water is very important
to Cobblestone Construction. One of the key reasons to install
interlocking pavers over concrete and asphalt, for example,
is the benefit to urban storm
water management. Being more permeable, pavers allow water
to filter into the land; reducing runoff, pollution, and flood
risk.
Norm said of the workshop: “It
was a very useful session and I look forward to introducing
the EPA’s techniques and best management practices into
our sites in the future.”
